'Legally Blonde the Musical – worst theatre customer service...' blog discussion

Sorry Martin, but if this is the worst customer service experience you've ever had you've been very lucky!
As far as theatres go, especially in London, uncomfortable seats are more or less the norm. As others have noted Theatre Monkey is excellent for peer review of seats by theatre and it's easy to find out scheduled absence of leads on the net. Easily the biggest complaint I have with theatres is the lack of ladies' loos but again in old buildings it's a price you pay unless you want to knock them all down. If you don't want to put up with it don't go!:T0 -
Why should they discount the seat when they can fill it with an adult at full price? They are a business after all.
Because I feel it is important for children to get a love of live Theatre from an early age... costs involved prohibit some families from taking their children or force them to buy cheaper seats which inevitably make for a poor theatre experience for the child. Sometimes theatres do a " family " ticket which can be considerably cheaper - I know Hairspray and Oliver both do these. All Theatres are a business for profit, but local theatres do offer concessionary prices. For now, however, we have to make the most of the two weeks while they allow children to go free...and not only for London residents.. anyone from anywhere can book tickets for this and as long as you get in quick there is good availability.I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -
Why should they discount the seat when they can fill it with an adult at full price? They are a business after all (who cares ??).
I thought this was a 'Money Saving Website' ?? I'm only interested in whats good for the consumer/customer, not how good it is to run a business ?? You remind me of a Royal Mail manager !!! :mad:I usually like to drink my whisky neat :cool2:0 -
I read your blog about your experience at Legally Blonde & thought it only fair to add my experience with customer service at the Savoy Theatre.
I bought tickets for my daughter & 7 friends to see Legally Blonde to celebrate her 18th birthday.
I wrote to the theatre to ask if there was any chance of meeting the cast, not really expecting that it would be possible but working on the premise that if you don't ask you don't get!
I know that the cast sign autographs after the show but it's a bit of a scramble.
Anyway, my daughter just phoned to say that her & her friends got to meet the cast at the stage door, away from everyone else. They got autographs, photos & Duncan James had been told my daughter's name so he said he was expecting her.
So, a huge thumbs up for the Savoy Theatre & Legally Blonde cast & staff from me for making my daughter's day.0 -
This blog bought back terrible memories of seeing Wicked at the Victoria palace theatre.
The OH and I arrived at the theatre in plenty of time and I decided to pop to the loo, I had a good 10-15 mins before the show was due to start so...
On arriving at the (unsurprising for a theatre but still annoying) ridiculously small excuse for ladies toilets, the queue was right out the door and up the steps.
Anyway, we arrived at the doors to the stalls just as the lights were going down and tried to enter but was told we'd have to wait despite the curtains being down still. By the time we were led in there were at least 20 of us waiting outside and they decided to take us in DURING a song, much to the audience's disgust. I mean, what exactly was the point in that?! Was it some sort of punishment for them not having enough toilets? Because it certainly didn't help anyone :mad::mad:
Anyway, good blog Martin, thanks for sharing the pain lol :money:0 -
