Which single function inkjet printer?

My HP Deskjet 880C is on its way out so I'm looking for a similar reasonably priced single function inkjet printer with separate inks and good paper/card handling, with front paper feed if possible.
I'm not particularly interested in printing photos so nothing fancy needed. Desk space is limited so I've no room for an all-in-one (I already have a good HP scanner which I'd like to keep).
I've done quite a bit of research but can't decide which to go for as the reviews are very mixed.
The 880 has been extremely reliable but the ink is relatively expensive compared to other makes so I want to move away from tricolour carts if possible.
Any recommendations very much appreciated. Thanks.

Canon certainly seems to be one of the most recommended brands. Just wasn't sure which model to go for.
Edit: Just checked the IP2600 and it uses a tricolour cart.0
