Walls need re-tying - any idea about cost?

I am looking at a 3 bed semi house. The origional iron wall ties are rotten and as a result they need re-tying.
Has anyone got an idea about how much this might cost me? Also any clues on the level of disruption?
All info appreciated.
Thanks

The survey on a house we were looking at recommended that the flank wall be tied in... I believe the surveyor suggested using something called 'helifix bars'?
We asked a friend who used to work in the building industry who said that it was likely to be a 5-figure sum!
The problem on this place sounds different to your problem though... the flank wall had not been correctly keyed into the internal walls & floors/ceiling rafters and it was bowing out.
The vendor would only shift £5000 on the price so we walked away and have now found a much bigger property with O/S parking & a garage

Thanks for that.
I think that this problem is simply old ties that need replacing. Has anyone had this job done? If so, how much did you pay?0 -
I think you should ask your surveyor his idea of the costings as he has seen the problem first hand. If not, ring a builder and ask. But it all depends on how old the house is and why the ties have corroded and has this allowed any movement in the building which may give you more expense?0
