I have lot track just now of which is in which slot (once it came on with one I added the other) but am giving up for now and accepting that at least it is no worse than it was yesterday!
Once again my thanks.
OK, is it now working with the old module or the new?
If the old, swap that module to the other slot. if it still works, then both slots are OK and you probably have either a faulty new module (very rare to have that with Crucial in my experience) or an incompatibility.
If it's the new, do the same thing-swap to the other module leaving the 2nd one empty. Keep testing until all combinations have been tried. You just need to logically eliminate a possible fault in each area.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Some machines require the BIOS to be updated before it will recognise a change in RAM. To do this, first fit all the memory, then enter the BIOS setup. Exit again saving settings.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

I ordered it from Crucial after doing one of their scans so according to that it should definately be compatible, and I have tried taking it out and doing it again. I am getting no error or anything - simply no recognition that I have done anything! Anyone have any ideas please? Many thanks.
