Currys and PC World ads, con or !!!! up?

Every Currys and PC World tv ad that I have seen over the Easter weekend featured promotions that had already expired. Most on 31st March, but at least one which expired last year.
I can only conclude that it is either a big con to draw people into their shops or a monumental !!!! up. Which do you think it is? I suspect the former.

The ads were running for longer than a weekend, and they won't reshoot a different ad to play each day when offers expire / become out of stock.
So theres a 3rd option - you missed the boat.0 -

A lot of offers changed on the morning of April 1st. Some of the older ones went off, but actually came back on the Friday.
Any specific examples?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Not necessarily true mate! They craftily advertised some really good offers in the papers last week (Tuesday). For once in my life i read the smallprint. The offers finished the previous day. They've been advertising for long enough now to know what they are doing.
I personally believe that they are willing to accept a slap on the wrist as the benefits of people thinking "Oh well, I'm here now, I might as well buy something" outweighs any possible fine or slap on the wrist.0 -
