Accidental damage cover- worth it?

Options
Hi

I am looking round to change my contents insurance.

But is it worth going for accidental damage?

I took it out in the past as we have 2 young children- We have an expensive leather sofa-cost £3k- but now 8 years old. Thought if they felt tipped it it might be worth the money?

But is it?

thanks
April Grocery challange £175

Spent week 1 £29.90
week 2 £62.64, TOTAL £92.54

It is a personal decision - some insurers cover accidental damage to "entertainment equipment" (TV/ PC etc) as standard and of cause personal possessions cover will cover things like my camera etc when it is out and about anyway.

I personally dont have any expensive furniture or object d'art and so accidental damage really isnt worth it for me (esp as my age means the price is heavily loaded) but instead just make sure that entertainment equip is covered as standard

If you make a claim for accidental damage you'll have to pay the excess plus won't your premiums go up the following years for having made a claim.
How much will this likely all add up to compared to just repairing any damage youself.

I'm not sure wether this was a sales ploy or not but when I was talking to a company about my home insurance policy they said that a football coming through the window would be classed as accidental damage to the building. Without Accidental Damage cover I wouldn't be able to make a claim...
Save a life. Learn emergency first aid.

Contact your local college or first aid provider to enquire about free courses in your area.

Already a first aider? Have you updated your first aid to the new 2005 guidelines? Most providers should now be training the new (and more effective) CPR protocols, see if they are offering refresher courses near you.
