has anyone tried vacuum storage bags? I've got a pile of jumpers to store until next winter and I was wondering if these would help? they get quite mixed reviews on argos so I'm not sure what to do.

I'd give them a mixed review too!
they're great until the seal goes and then you just have a very expensive plastic bag!
All of my larger ones are bust now but the small bags are still ok.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
My experience is somewhat similar to nodwah's. I've tried several kinds, the ones without a rigid plastic bar across the top have worked best. Think they're branded "spacesaver" The ones I have found great are the smaller ones for travel purposes. You roll them up to drive out the air. They don't compress as much as the vacuum ones, but they are great for holidays. I especially like putting the dirty underwear in one, so when I inevitably have my case searched on my return, nobody is raking through my used knickers
:rotfl: ( sorry if this is waaaay too much info )
I "think" the ones from argos are the ones I don't like, but I haven't checked the website. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
In my experience they are rather hit and miss. I have broken a few by pulling the seal to open the bags and the seal has completely come off one side of the bag. I know what i mean. Sometimes they re-inflate too, even when you think you have them all sealed up. Maybe you should do what i did, wait to find some at a reduced price and then give them a try?Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I have two from different poundshops. One is fine, the other (larger) one reinflates slowly after you have gotten all the air out. The one that works was from the 99p shop, but I can't remember the brand. Supposed to be lavender scented which I thought would be nice for the bedding I store in it, but I can't smell anything...Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

A positive vote here. I have some in the top cupboard of my wardrobe, storing summer clothes. I bought a set from Argos.
I also have some roll up ones in my suitcase, great for holidays. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Mixed views here too. Got 2 that are fine and 2 that leak air. (And 1 that I burst as soon as I'd sooked the air out of it and moved it past the radiator.

I have a couple of the Argos large bags and found them okay but am going to buy two of the duvet storing bags from Marks this week during the 20% off homewear promotion.0

I bought mine from Lakeland and wish I hadn't bothered they are a waste of time . Better to store clothes in a suitcase in the loft or on top of the wardrobe. I also bought little ones for holidays and they were OK on the way there but broke before I could come home so had to buy another case. so nil points from me. :rotfl:0
