It's so nice to have you back Toots we've missed you so much :-)
Hope DS is ok hun :-/
I think you're doing the right thing with the crotchet, you don't want to lose an enjoyable hobby for the sake of money. If I were you I'd just make something when you feel like it and then sell it after if you want to. I find it much easier making one-off pieces for the Seren collection than repeating designs .
Im sure your dying for a seed update (or not) so I now have 12 runner bean plants , 8 peas and lots of salad leaves that I've potted on into larger pots. Carrots are starting to come up in the container. Only casualty has been the salad leaves I planted direct into the garden that disappeared...not sure if it was slugs or birds !0 -
Oh yes, seeds. Just about all of my peppers have come up now. I moved them to the top of the mini greenhouse to max out the amount of light they were getting, so not sure if that helped or if they were all just getting ready to come up anyway.
Peas are going great guns now. My only strange thing is I planted two rows of lettuce at the same time in the same bed about 6 inches apart and one row has come up and the other hasn't. Don't think birds or slugs would have been that selective, so that one has me baffled!0 -
Hi Toots - I know exactly what you mean with regards to the hobby becoming a chore.
I used to absolutely adore Computers, having numerous ones - doing tech support for family and friends and to make ends meat at uni....
It was great until I went full time working at a large bank and ended up completely disillusioned with the IT industry and its took me until the past 2 years to get any of hte love back for it as a career!
However IT as a hobby has completely gone for me, and I for the past 5 years cars have been my hobby and I am now quite an accomplished mechanic - however I will not consider it as a career as I do not want the hobby killed
So Good Decision Toots! And im sure theres something else if you want to find it to make you the money£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

Looks like Price Minister work like amazon, they deal with payment etc however, might be worth thinking about they only pay the seller once the transaction is rated to prove the buyer has the item.
Fantastic, thanks for that, couldn't find it anywhere! Does seem to be a lot like amazon, but what with all the grabbit its coming up from here, maybe worth a punt! Only bit I am trying to work out now, is the postage bitM&P - meant to say thanks for the book, some excellent recipes in it!!
Forgot I sent that! Glad it will come in useful!
2Cats - Were they from the same packet? Or were there 2 different ones? How odd!
Toots - heeellloooo! Missed you! I think you are right in doing what you are. A hobby is something that is relaxing and for what percious little time we get away from the world. Don't spoil it, and if you don't want to do my order then I completely understand! You need your time to chill and escape, which reminds me....please can you pm your address, I have some bedtime reading for you! xxx
Ho hum, right, better get myself up and running on this priceminster, can never have too many platforms for all these bleeding books!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
Quiet dribbly night tonight! Jo I've failed miserably at today's mini move...well might try it just before I go to sleep- but the mini move from yesterday about doing a small step has worked and I've finished a new pair of earrings and a pendant and photographed them :-)
Wonder what tomorrows is? Hope it isn't stressing you out thinking of them Jo, won't be very productive for you hun!0 -
Thanks folks, it's nice to have my decision reaffirmed so soundly! And thanks for the warm wishes for DS. We've not said anything to anyone just yet, but I don't mind sharing around here if it's not too much info.... suffice to say DS found a lump down where there should be no more than two natural ones (!) and the doc isn't satisfied that it's just a cyst. So we're off for ultrasound on Friday to assess if it's harmless or a mass, we'll just have to wait and see. Unfortunately takes 10 days or so for the results to go back to the doc, so will have a couple of weeks of worry till we know one way or the other.
Mabel thanks for the seed update!! I was thinking about your babies!
MummyandPaige, I'm getting there with your goodies, like I said it's a pleasure, I'm afraid I'm just taking my time with them though so sorry for the delay. I'm back hooking tonight with avengeance! Will pm you just now, but you have to let me know what I owe you!
Jo, I missed you and everyone here, but I'm back and I'll stick around till I'm kicked out!
