Poss Solution 1. Could you not give mechanic money to hire van - therefore he is hiring it and as such the insurance would be in his name?

Munchki - I feel guilty now! I am your friend and I have a van, but neither me or the kn0bhead drive so don't know how that would work, plus it stinks of rotten squid (really not joking, hold your breath if you open the door!), if you can think of a way to get it you you and back, you are welcome to use it, petrol to and fro may just cancel out the saving though. Still have a table top electric oven I can send you if you need it to tide you over, can live without it for a while! It will fit in a box too so will cost less than a tenner to send. Fridge, hmmm, maybe post a wanted on freecycle to collect on Fri when you have the van? Worth a shot?

Jo - will let you know once I have worked it out in better detail xx

LOL emma, your such a sweety, but your right I dont think it would save anything in the end and squid ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww lol

I posted an ad on freecycle over the weekend and so far nothing. I can a pair for about 70-80 which is not horrible so may have to do that, at least a fridge first as have microwave, steamer and slow cooker to start with.

So freaking close after 15 months and have come full circle, just one more little hurdle to overcome and I will find a way.

I love bouncing ideas off you lot, think that is one of the things that make this group so special. No matter what we all always seem to be there for one another and that is so special and so rare. Huge huggles to you all and I am for one, very proud to call you friends!

The problem is the mechanic. they wont let him hire or drive the van as he does not work!!! I dont feel confident enough to drive something as big as a transit van lol
