Breakdown Saving

My first haggle (and on the phone and I hate phones).
It went like this:
Got my renewal for the AA and I really like being with them, £46.50 for breakdown for a year.
Checked the website: Basic cover £31.85 after 20% off, Hmmmm
Checked RAC: £32.35, Checked GEM £33, Hmmm, the plot thickens.
Spoke to very nice man at the AA "I want to cancel please, RAC and GEM are mucho cheaper at £32.35 and £33" (no, please I really don't wanna cancel).
"Okay, we can renew you at £39.35 and 1000 Nectar points"
So, saved £7.15 and got £5 off shopping at Sainsbury's, renewal now £34.35!
And I don't need to leave the AA, same level of cover and everything.
I am so pleased with myself I am gonna tell the world (I know its just a little saving, but every penny counts)

It goes to show that unless you ask you just dont know. The market is so competative now that companies need your custom not vice versa.
Well done! :beer:0 -
We haggled with the buildings insurance. Found a cheaper quote online. Told our insurer that we wouldnt be renewing at the end of the month and they price matched it - RESULT!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Do you have any more details of this offer. Is it open to all? Is there a code to quote? It sounds like an excellent deal.0
