Palm tree looking sick

We have a palm tree it is still potted due to waiting to move house with view to planting then. Since winter it has shed all its leaves and looks sick. We have noticed most we see when out and about are looking unwell and brown. Has the frost affected them all?We stripped the leaves off and are waiting to see any new shoots to decide whether it's worth keeping or not, they seem quite a hard plant, it may come back ?? Anyone have any tips ?? Thanks. :)
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I think we have had this one. You could try a search. If I remember correctly, some people felt that the plants might re-grow. That would be less likely if it was in a pot though.

Personally, I'm not at all sure that many of the palms I've seen will re-grow. The worst ones near me are down on the coast and in low lying valleys, while the ones in a nearby village at around 500' above sea level seem unscathed. Again, my phormium (New Zealand flax) is fine, while the ones 400' below me in Barnstaple are knackered.

This can be explained by the fact that we hit -14C here on one January night, while down in the valley they had -19C.
