Hi I'm after some advice, trying to organise a party for my son (he'll be 5) and I'm after a recommendation. Googled and found a few entertainers but I don't know which to go for as can't find any information from people who have actually hired them! Please help only 5 weeks to go

Hi,
Not sure if he'll travel as far a Swansea but we used Paddy the Clown (Cardiff)
paddytheclown.com
Absolutely brilliant - he had the children just falling about laughing and he's not a frightening clown IYKWIM so the smaller ones wont be afraid.
My kids talked about him for years after the party!!!0 -
It might be worth your while posting this on the Wales board a bit further down - you may get some more replies and I think there may be a similar earlier thread on there anyway.
But in the meantime, I can recommend Crazy Clayton (link). He works out of Llanelli but I can't see why he wouldn't travel to Swansea. He does lots of Macdonalds parties (I think he has a contract with them) and I've been to loads of other birthday parties he's done and other events he's been booked at. He can be slightly annoying for the adults, but then I guess that's the idea. He did my DD's 5th birthday and the kids absolutely love him. He's not cheap, but really you can't go far wrong with him.

don't forget to ask if they have been crb checked!0

The one I've recommended has. But of course don't forget that a crb check only means they haven't done anything YET....
(but that's a discussion for another day:D)

Hi thanks for that Janepig I appreciate recommendation, I've actually seen Crazy Clayton in Mcdonalds a few years ago and by the end of his stint I felt a little crazy myself! So I had ruled him out straightaway. Regards to CRB I have worked in the NHS and schools and I'm not too worried about CRB as they have no unsupervised contact with the children and many only have a basic disclosure as this is all any self employed person can get. Did want PL insurance, so any reputable entertainers will hopefully have this. Thank you again0

He does have that effect on the adults, myself included, and the loudness doesn't help!! But I've seen quite afew children's entertainers in the parties DD and DS have been to and I think he's about the best - he certainly keeps the children's attention, they do seem to love him. Mind you, I wouldn't do that sort of a job for a million pounds!!!

You could try Sparky (Google Sparky's parties). I think he's based in Loughor. I've been to afew parties of his and he's very good (not quiite as manic as Clayton!). And he's dressed up as a superhero in the parties I've seen him do (various ones).

Hi Janepig, I've checked out his website and it looks good, have heard of him but I've heard of him as 'Partyman' didn't realise sparky's parties was the same guy. Have rang but he's out at moment so will ring back later. Thanks again, fingers crossed he'll be the one.0
