how much do I offer?

I want to buy a new house. Bovis are asking for 269,000. What do you think they will accept? I've offered 240,000 but they said no. help.:T

    Look up houses in the area and what they sell for , also what can you afford?

    There are some websites that tell you how much houses have sold for.

    It really depends. Some houses go for the asking price, its not a question that can really be answered.

    Its a weird time at the moment, not many people are selling so when houses come up in popular areas there are several people going after them.

    But you are probably looking at 5% of the asking price as a realistic offer, but as I say it all depends on what you can afford and how much you want it.

    I am going to offer on a house selling for £375,000

    my first offer will be £345,000 and I expect to buy at £356,000 anything less will be a big bonus.
