Thanks to EagerLearner, this is perfect - saves all those post it notes dotted around the place with random figures for my savings account!

I have a small techie question though...

On my chart the bottom dark green column does not show the total saved so far for that 'field' on the actual block itself wheras all the others do. It was showing when the original figures were there but it's not any more - any ideas how to get it to come back? I use Open Office if this makes a difference.

    Thanks.

Hmmm - hard to say what caused that if it was working initially and has now stopped - maybe right-click on the chart and check the source data to make sure it's all correct? Have you tried deleting the data just from that particular category on the table, to refresh the chart? Then try to re-enter the data and see how you go. If all the other categories are showing the total on the chart, it's a strange one. Maybe the amount for that categoty on the chart was clicked on, then deleted by mistake? You could try downloading the spreadsheet again, then copying and pasting that tab again?

    Hi eager Learner,

Thanks for pointing me to the spreadsheet - looks really detailed!! I don't know much about using excel but I've recently downloaded open office (since I don't have excel) and now that I can actually write my own details in the columns will be giving this a bash as soon as I have some time! Thanks for putting so much work into it

    Regards

Hi CoolTrikerChic - you can rename the headings to whatever you like on the 'frills' section - however, that sheet does already have a shopping column which you can use to track spending?

Generally on the Frills section, the columns can have whatever headers you like, just type over them.

Hi Mercenary - you click the cell you want to un-highlight and then find on the toolbar the button like a paint can, and select the 'transparent' colour. But you probably already found that out :p

Hope you enjoy the spreadsheet and please let me know your feedback and any questions you have :T
