Triton shower help/advice please!

Hi
My sister has just had her bathroom redone and to save some money she kept her previous electric shower. It is a Triton Jade 8.5kw.
It was working fine but after being re-installed it started dripping out the shower head constantly. We took the front off the box and noticed it was making a constant 'hissing' sound and seemed to be leaking water inside the unit.
We have turned the power switch off but it continues to hiss and leak water.

Does anyone have any ideas as to a simple reason for this?

She is aware she will have to get a new shower but as all the tiling has been done around the pipes etc she would have to get one which fits into exactly the same space!?

Any help would be great, since having the bathroom done everything has started failing...see my next post on her alarm!!!
Thanks in advance

Thanks...hers must be the first model as it doesnt have a number after the jade. This may sound stupid but will they fit exactly the same space with pipes etc as the tiling has all been done around the pipes?
I have just found it on homebase website too!

If it doesn't fit it won't be the end of the world.

    Get creative.

Maybe get a nice bit of brushed stainless sheet to cover around the gaps and mount the shower on this?

When mine was replaced it was completely moved it to the side cutting new holes.
This left the holes fully exposed so they could be properly filled and then a nice mirror fitted over the top to make a feature of it.
  • The cold feed will be on the same side, the right. sometimes the fixings are in a different place, then a couple of wall plugs would be required.

Most likely the pipes have been disturbed when doing the tiling, and the water is seeping from a joint that's been moved.

Go talk to the shower doctor - check the forum there, and if still no answer, phone them. There's four pages of threads about the Jade itself.... you have turned off the water supply in the meantime, haven't you?

You don't have to get a totally new shower - they do spares for it -

Just noticed you say 're-installed' - who de-installed and then re-installed it?

    Thanks for all your replies.

I have told her to phone the plumber to get him to turn the water off or tell us how as we think its been boxed in but am not sure. So at the moment its still running water (hopefully not down the back of the wall).

I called triton and they said that there is an exact match but only sainsbury online (does anyone know any discounts for s'bury online???), or the other jade would have pipes/cables in correct place but may need new screws into wall which hopefully wont look too obvious.

Think its best to get a new one than start messing around fixing it when neither of us have any idea, and it is 6 ish years old anyway so dont want something else to break.

Googler - I will check out the shower doctor too! It was taken off the wall and put back on by the plumber who did the bathroom.

    Thanks again.
