Can anyone recommend a...

freeview recorder and a mini hifi system or independent speakers with bluetooth?

I don't need ipod docking as I don't use one, but I think most music systems these days tend to have an aux out plug which I can use to play music from my mp3 through, or just a set of decent speakers I can connect to wirelessly to play the music from my phone or netbook (both have bluetooth).

Just managed to blow up my old digihome freeview box and my mini hifi system has been on the way out for ages - the cd player finally died on me earlier too - so figure its time to replace the lot.

Budget wise is basically as little as possible, as am saving at the moment to try and move house - when I move I'll be moving in with my oh who spends a fortune on gadgets so mine will be near obsolete as soon as I move.

TIA Scuba

If you go to the Argos website there is a Bush 160gb HDD model, ref number 532/1911, that is on special offer at less than £90, and it has a lot of good reviews. You are right in thinking there is not much point in spending out a lot on one as at the moment there are a new range of Freeview HD recorders due out, in line with the onset of the new Freeview HD service. However these are likely to be expensive at first in the price range of £270 plus.:money:
