How much safe to use third party application on Iphone to store our personal details

There are many application available like IM messenger which connects to our personal account and brings our contacts to their application obviously with our knowledge and agreement only.

There are few more application which stores our password like lockbox and few more.

I'm bit worried about that how they are using our details and how they stored these details and what kind of encryption they use.

Has anyone ever worried about these.

I don't have an iPhone, but generally I wouldn't provide any sensitive information to a third party unless I was confident that the third party was a legitimate, trustworthy business.

But it depends what details you are storing. Your personal email adress isn't as "sensitive" as your bank account number, mother's maiden name, etc.

Seeing as apps must be approved by apple (they are tested and scrutinised) i would be inclined to say your safe providing your iphone isnt jailbroken.
