a good economical car please?

Hi we are thinking of changing our car, a scinec, which has been a really reliable car,to a more economical estate or big enough for 4!, we want something to do 60 mpg + any ideas please ( we want a used car) thanks!

    Probably the most Economical car I ever owned was a 1997 Vauxhall Vectra DI Ecotec. Large enough for a growing family and huge boot space (Hatchback).

    Even around town it never did less than 49mpg and on the motorway 55 - 60 wasn't unusual.

    Sadly I just sold it on ebay for £1300 with 64k genuine miles. If you can find one in the same condition and below 100k miles then you'll have a nice cheap motor and amazing diesel economy.
