Security Cameras over Wifi Network

Is it possible to install 3 security cameras viewable on a PC over a WiFi Network? (and possibly online from a remote PC)

If yes, what is the most economical way to do this? A failry basic setup will suffice.

Thanks!

You can set up remote viewing using one of THESE, but without the cameras. It can install up to 4.

It needs to be connected to a computer constantly, there is a !!!!!! load of faffing about with 'port forwarding' and you need to have a decent dedicated graphics card... but it is the chepaest and simplest, certainly not the best.

Thnaks, but from what I can see these cameras are wired?
I thought that I can simply install WiFi Cameras, conect them to the network and view them using a normal PC which is also on the same network (and save the footage if needed on the HDD using some kind of software) but I have no idea how to do this, if at all possible.

:P I use to have IP cameras that you could access anywhere and view anywhere.

    But unless you wanna pay

Plus extras for enclosures for outside use :).

There are much cheaper ip cameras avaible from about £60 upwards (although you'd need to waterproof them for outdoor use). Google "wireless ip camera" for examples.

  • yes, I found a few WiFi Cameras at around £50 but how do I go about setting this up?
    What software is best?
Will I be able to access the cameras online from a remote PC running windows XP?
  • I found this camera

    http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Peripherals/Security+Devices/Swann+CCTV+IP-3G+ConnectCam+500+-+Wireless+802.11G+Network+Daytime+Camera+?productId=39776&source=googleps

It is reasonably priced, however I cant find any reviews or any guides as to how to instal a few of these on a network + PC for viweing/recording.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.
