Wow - thanks for all the responses - I never expected that!!!

My inspiration has been this site.....the tips are amazing and I've learnt things that I never knew before - (I've just become a "stoozer") and how to be a bit smarter about things. The biggest realisation has been the amount of tat we waste our money on - things we think we "need", but really don't. I've cut out so many things and discovered that actually I really don't miss them. That coffee & muffin from Starbucks, endless magazines, £100 on a night out (why?), cabs everywhere, the 50th pair of jeans/top/handbag/shoes, massive food bills when cooking from scratch is yummier and cheaper. Try doing a tracker for a month of everything you spend - it'll shock you!

I've so got the MSE bug & I love it - especially when a friend turns to me and says "How on earth do you always manage to get these brilliant deals - how do you hear about them????"

I'm off to get a deal on a bottle of champagne (first round for MSE'ers everywhere) so watch out Tesco - you'd better not have made a mistake on the prices....I'll be watching....:D :D .

Well done - that is fantastic news and very encouraging for everyone else who feels they will never make it.

Perhaps you could post a mini-essay about how you did it ? How did you increase your income or how did you decrease your outgoings? What affected you the most? In what area did you make the greatest savings? Sorry......I'm nosy aren't I :)
I think it would make interesting reading for other DFW.

    Anyway - many congratulations :):)

  • Hi freebird,

I'm so pleased for you and proud that MSE has helped you so much.

I'd like to second that request for a mini essay charting your progress? Pretty please...?
