I've started using the Stoplock Original steering wheel lock which I've had for years, don't have instructions.

It has a switch at top to switch on Flashing Warning LED.

Is this LED on a timer, can someone check ?

I noticed it wasn't flashing when I came back to car days later.

When I switch LED on, it flashes for few hours & stops.

If I then switch off, back on, it starts flashing as normal.
Doesn't seem to be flat batteries.

Not sure if the LED is on timer or batteries are low, as it seems to flash ok for hours every time I switch off/on.

Tell us you don't need instructions to work the lock!!

If you do, print this out, all you need to know is right here

Sounds like the daft light is just that, a simple light. How long does it flash for, about 8-10hrs perhaps??

If it wasn't on a timer, nobody would remember to turn off the flashing light so the battery would drain in a few days.

It is the batteries, now the LED has started flashing for only few seconds/minutes.

I've worked out what's going on.

Once the battery goes flat overnight, it switches LED off.

The battery then has hours to recover, so when I switch on day/days later it has enough power to run for a few hours.

LEDs consume tiny amounts of power and can run for years on batteries.

Also that stoplock is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Can be removed in less than 30 seconds (I've seen videos on the internet).

A Disklok is a much better option, it covers the whole wheel so is harder to remove.

Nothing is going to stop a professional.

All the steering wheel locks can be removed by a professional in less than 2 minutes.

Mine's a 22 year old car, just trying to make bit more difficult without wasting money.

I would like to see a professional remove a Disklok in less than 2 minutes. From what I can recall the website said at least 15 minutes before a pro was able to take it off.

    Found this earlier

Using one of these, even the basic Stoplock, I'm not trying to stop this type of person, just stop the average thief, make it more trouble than its worth for an old car.

think about it John, what would be the point of a timed LED on a steering lock?
i actially have one of these as well, kept it on my garaged 'weekend car' (now gone :( ) as a discouragement incase kids broke in.
they broke in once and stole the one alloy i had off the car,no use to them and left me with 3 useless alloys as they were a rare and discontinued design :(
