Question about eBay shops

I am looking to start my own ebay shop but I need to know when you start a shop, you have to choose name for it, does your feedback transfer to the shops feedback or do you start from 0.

You open the shop through your existing id so they are linked. For example, if your user name is johnsmith that will still come up on all the correspondence and invoices but your shop name 'john smith books' will just show on the actual shop page if people go through your items into the shop.

Just be aware that shop fees are going up to 10% FVF for each sale. When I was opening my shop the FVF just went up from 5% to £6.75%, I thought that was steap!

Don't forget the listing costs are going up as well and visibility for shop items reduced...I'm seriously rethinking my strategy at the moment.

Well, at the moment the shop items show up in a standard search. In future they will not show at all until the very end of all the other ordinary auctions have been shown except where numbers 'are small'.

That basically means if you are selling a unique product you should be OK, if selling a common item in a shop then you won't get seen unless someone is already accessing your shop.

I see where you're coming from.

the £6.00 is nothing anyway for a month. So I'll see how it goes.

I wouldn't advise anyone to open a store at the moment without seriously taking into consideration the increased listing fees, FVF and reduced visibilty.
