Thanks Weezl - have brain fog or something, am pretty exhausted so that's probably causing it.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

And good evening all
Wondered if any of you are feeling up to joining me in a personal CFR inspired challenge this summer ?
Basically, I have decided to test Kitty's (vegan) planner, starting from next Monday. I will be doing about 85% of it - all breakfasts and lunches, and the 15 dinner dishes each tried once, alternated with the more treaty meals (meaty stuff from the freezer and the like).
I realise that this is very short notice, and that this might mean that no one will be joining me for the start of it - but that's okay, cos you can join in any time, or just test an odd meal, or just come on to the new thread (which will be starte for Kitty's testing) to chat and - hopefully - cheer me on
All the relevant info is coming soon, courtesy of Weezl who has been beavering away in the background creating the recipes and the planner, so don't worry if you feel that you can not make the decision if you don't know exactly what it will involve - it will all be there in the next day or two.
So, guys.... Anyone ?0 -
Supersizers Wartime is on at the mo. Anyone for carrot & oatmeal soup? Or freshly caught squirrel or snail??
I have inventoried my freezers & cans today. I keep a speadsheet of these & add & take away. But it is useful to double check occasionally & is about where I expected.
Anyway, I have about 11kg of meat, poultry & fish in at the moment! So I need to use these up & won’t be going vegan anytime soon – much more economic to use what I have in already. Couldn’t resist some YS stuff at half price over the last week or so – sausages, ham & dry-cure bacon (all British, quality marked, finest etc. but at this price about the same as value), plus hot smoked mackerel, undyed smoked haddock, trout fillet & tuna steaks!
And it is only me for the next three weeks!!!!!
But there are so many yummy recipes on CFR that I want to cook. Decisions, decisions ….
BTW I know it was decided (I think) not to use the word ‘vegan’ too much. On the children’s programme Tracy Beaker someone was cooking macrobiotic vegan food for the children (it is set in a children’s home) & his friend said, yeh but we don’t all want to be robotic aliens!0 -
It's been ages since I found any good yellow-stickered stuff
I am sooo envious....
BTW, J, I am also daughter-free for three weeks from todaySo what do I do ? Put my feet up ? Nah, fill my time with a new challenge....

That sounds smashing, Arty ! :j I am hoping especially that a few of the newbies that have popped up recently slightly disappointed that all the testing for Shirl has already been done could join in, even if it is just to test out a recipe or two.... The more the merrier !0

Oh, totally agree need a project while DD free! But the temporary peace & quiet is nice, however much we miss them?
I saw your idea (CFR lurker/ maybe stalker!! LOL) & think it is a good idea. Hope Weezl will agree once has slept on it.
But I already have a little project that I am working on that is totally OT.
I have been researching my family tree & have found that in the 1841 census (first to name individuals) there are only about 400 individuals with same surname as me). With so few it is an almost certain that we are all related, so am trying to prove it.
There is more luck than judgement with the YS stuff. Can know roughly when reductions are made & still miss them.0 -
I'll probably do as I did before Allegra - carry on trying out recipes when I can fit them in with real life. Are you going to post what you'll be making when? It would be fun for people to cook the same thing on the same day I think, and might make collecting feedback easier too.0
