How about buying a star.:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.
If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.

We asked for donations to charity in our sons name & even nominated a charity & set up online payments if people really wanted to give him a gift (but stresed it realy wasn't necessary). Most guests ignored us (why? what could be more christian than helping thopse in need?). He got one of those awful (sorry Crispeater, but they truly are!) silver scrolls with the WRONG date etched on it from my MiL, along with some very lovely gifts of the non-silver variety, but they are still un-necessary in my opionin.mrcow wrote::rotfl:
I got three of those  One of them complete with "display stand"!
Along with six money boxes (three silver), ten picture frames (five silver), three ornamental bears (one silver!) and a small silver ornamental cup
I've kept it all as it belongs to the children, but am at a loss as what to do with it all
I really am an ungrateful mare aren't I! :rotfl:(Don't answer that!)
Edit: And I put "no presents please" on the Christening invite (no one read that bit obviously lol)
At the very least, I'd say avoid anything associated with a christening. I'm sorry, but how many bibles and silver bangles does a child need? I might sound ungrateful but I am also pratical!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0
