Advice re selling a Vodafone mobile broadband dongle?

Hi

We were in contract to Vodafone for their mobile broadband but are no longer. We have the mobile broadband dongle.

We've seen lots of them advertised on ebay but are not sure whether we can advertise ours as it was part of a contract - could Vodafone block it in some way? Just not sure whether the ones on ebay are the PAYG ones that people have bought and are selling on and don't want to mislead anyone and have people coming back to say it doesn't work....excuse us if this is a dim question...!

Also we have used it - presumably the device itself doesn't retain any of our information...?

It would probably work OK (on Vodafone at least) but sfaik none of the mobile operators are selling just the SIMs so it would only be any use as a replacement for a busted dongle. To be worth anything it would need to be sold together with a PAYG SIM.

Unless it has an inbuilt memory card (and I don't know of any that do but some do have slots) there will be no personal info on it.

Many thanks for your helpful reply - that's what was puzzling us really as there seem to be plenty of these selling on ebay but I don't understand how they can be useful. I guess so long as we clearly say it has no Sim and then it's up to the person who buys it.
