    dundee council

The first site will give property details and the next will let you know if there are any permissions and look at neighbouring properties. Useful if you want to see if someone local has had a loft conversion or extension

    also look at google streetview

    Try here http://www.landsearch.net/

You can request ownership details. You have to pay a small fee, but will save you grief and should give you the registered owner.

I live in Clackmannanshire and wanted to find out about ownership of a piece of land. I went through The Scottish Land Register. It cost £48 (can be less if owner easily traced). I put the request in online and the result came in just under a week, which was good as it was quite a complex matter of ownership.
