I Need help

Where I live now, With BT for Phone and BB. Not happy. Was going to go to Virgin. Forget all that.

I am moving, back to my other house, IT did have BT phone and BB. BUT a tenant changed it to ????
I cannot find out who.
BT quote me £120+ for reconnection. Dont fancy that
Virgin quote 30+ for connection, OK, BUT ALL the web site info is useless, they say that I am in a 'whatever' area, so nothing on the web site applies.
All they can offer me is a 12-13 Mb BB with phone. phone 11.99 etc £21 for the BB after the 2Months. I had problems getting the upto 8Mb last time I lived there. They cannot offer me any other package, WHY should I have to pay for a 12-13 Mb when I can only get half that They cannot offer me their 10Mb package, at £6 less

I need help finding a supplier in the Scarborough Area. Phone + BB unlimited upto about 10Mb (as that seems to be the max in the area)

DO NOT suggest Tiscali, had enough of them yrs ago. Will never use them OR any thing related to them ever again, no matter how much I will save, And I am all for saving.

Apprieciate any info
Thanks

Ignoring the Tiscali/Talk Talk/Pipex/CPW group, samknows suggests your options are AOL or C&W.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Are you definitely on the Scarborough exchange and not an adjoining one though?
Check on samknows or post your full postcode.

BT can connect you for £29.99p (18 month contract)

    See: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2369391&highlight=

Then you can add a isp of your choice.

BUT it is an 18 month contract. All the contracts seem to be going to 18 months, tying people up when they can least afford it.

Thanks for the samknows bit never heard of that. If I go to the end of the road or out on the roof, I can see the exchange, about 1 mile, the other side of town but on the main road through.
    Thanks all.

If you want the £100 subsidy the you have to commit for 18 months, if not you have to pay £125 or get your line provisioned by another provider.
You still haven't confirmed you are definitely on the Scarborough exchage via samknows?

Yes, definately on Scarborough Exchange Via Samknows

C&W Bulldog, Bulldog was bought out by C&W, They are an LLU and are not accepting any more private customers, They provide the service in scarborough, For Pipex, who I do not want to go with. Also forget AOHell. Looks as if I might have to use mobile tech, dongle on my pc, via mobile operator, Already have that, as I need mobile internet access, with work. Limited to about 3.6 Mb Dl speed, ok for emails, and a bit of brousing, But Useless for anything else.
Just have to wait until BT give a good offer. See what they say when I give notice to close my present account, cannot do that until I get a completion date for the house sale, ( which is taking far too long for my liking. Last 2 times I have moved. Seen house, moved in six weeks. This one is already into 7 weeks, and still not final, but that is another story)
Thanks every one for your help.
