I am in the process of buying a house which has a gas pre-payment meter. I want to get a credit meter installed, does anybody know who to contact? I have googled at length without success.
I don't have utility bills in my name at the moment, they are in my husband's name but he and I are no longer together.
Thanks.

You need to contact that energy company that is currently the supplier to the new house, but I doubt they will do anything until you have moved in and set up an account with them.0

They will carry out a credit check first.
Some companies charge to change meters - others don't.0 -
Thanks, do you know of any that don't and I'll start with them when choosing a new supplier0

Just phone the supplier of the property and say you are moving in or have just moved in, and want to set a credit meter etc and to set up a direct debit.
If they start talking charges to change the meter, then just tell them they leave you with no other option but to change to suppliers to someone who wont charge to change the meter.
If they refuse you on the credit check, then thats a different thing all together.0
