We wanted our radiators in each bedroom moved and our plumber quoted £200 per radiator (so £600 for all). This did include new radiators as well. Our house is 1960s just for comparison.CC Debt at LBM Nov 08 - £25000+ DFD Dec 2012Second DFD May 2021Starting my MFW journey: Opening Balance: £138,000; July 2019: £135107.33; July 2024 £52974.60; July 2025 £11140.232025 MFW #360

I am not a plumber, but I moved 2 rads in my house, on my own in a day, having drained the system and it was refilled and back running by late evening, so the labour charged is excessive.
wow sounds like you could be in demand on this thread! can you come to sussex and replace my rads!)

I've recently had two old radiators moved and replaced with new larger ones and another old one replaced with a new larger one. The pipework was also changed from microbore to standard. Took the guy one day on his own and he charged £550 (which included all labour and materials)...very good job he did too!0

He wasn't a plumber then? so you have paid for a someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I can think of only 1 thing that most plumbers merchants wont stock and that is old 3/4" rad valves. And if your old rads had these, easy to swop for 15mm with 3/4x 1/2 bush's.
Ask him if inhiditor as added to the system ? bet it wasn't? mkore like feb-tone if hes a builders mate:rotfl:.
Tell him your not paying top wack for a numptie to fit your rads, offer him £250. As i can see a plumber charging you more the £300.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -
Hi plumb
Thanks for your feedback. My builder seemed very professional so I expected his team to be too. So I very much expected anyone he knew to know what they were doing. Bah! Do you think 130 is a lot for materials for moving the two rads if the valves had to be replaced or somehow revised? Presumably I should request receipts of it? I have a quick question about your post...

Unless there was a lot of repiping? How far were they moved? £130 seems ott. Were new thermostatic rad valves used? The more info we get the more info i/we can give.
