  • I would cut the dog training as well.

As for haircuts I cut my own for free. Get a pair of clippers it is easy. I have to keep my hair smart for work and used to get it cut for £5 every three weeks. I bought the clippers for £12.99 and now cut it whenever I like for free. My wife won't let me cut hers though coz I can only do the one style - lol!

I buy dog food mixer from Lidl and tinned dog meat (Chappie) from Tesco for 69p a tin. He loves it!

Other stuff can be got from Lidl as well for a lot less than the other major supermarkets. Just watch what you are buying coz sometimes the quality can be a bit iffy or the fruit and veg go off quicker.

I do buy a lot in Lidl already, but probably too much,if I shop in Asda I don't buy treats, but when we go to Lidl they sell lovely chocolate and treats that we buy stuff we wouldn't normaly buy

  • Could you maybe get the ntl bill down slightly? Maybe talk about leaving unless they can do you a better offer? I think you can sometimes get it for around £30, so £43 seems quite high.

I am laaaaydeee too. But I have long straight style and get my husband to cut the ends off for me.

Last proper hair cut was back in march when I had a final year student cut it for free in a local expensive salon.

Thanks again for the replies :j
Had some good news after a very productive morning, checked bank statements and we have only received child benefit for one child since April  I thought 69 was less than before, phoned them up and they are refunding the back pay ASAP :j they said that one of the kids had disappeared from their screens  I wonder if I could choose which one  so income has increased another 50 a month :D plus backpay, will clear overdraft :D
Phoned water company this morning asked about a meter and capping the bill, they say they can put in a meter for a year and if it is dearer I can have it removed after the year,if I decide to keep it that's it and it stays for good, they not sure if we could save money with a meter but think I will give it a go,it can be capped at our current bill with a GP letter :j so another good result.
NTL  what a problem they are, loss of service, bad customer service, rude staff and now you have to PAY them to report a fault
we have already got the ball rolling to change to BT basic package,we have freeview but don't get it very well, but tough! not sure which company for broadband?

Well done on getting some positive news. I am not sure about this but regarding freeview, maybe you need a better aerial (sp?)? This might improve the quality of the signal. I am not a techy but perhaps someone else will come along with the answer.

    Best of luck

So glad the thread progressed into good news:j

Yes the Lidl food is far cheaper than bakers for the dog. I know what you mean about training being like an outing, a couple of years back we used to take ours it was an escape from the rest of our problems, a really enjoyable couple of hours - but sadly one of the first things to go for us too.

hair cuts?? LOL, long time since I had one of those, even the OH seems to be going for the hippy look these days:eek:

Must get onto child benefit then and see if they can make mine disappear:p I half disappeared from the CSA one, still fighting for what they owe me too:mad:

So pleased things are looking up for you and to read you are doing so well.
