Advice needed - Sony or Samsung TV?

Hello all,

I am considering buying a 40" TV, and am currently stuck between the Sony Bravia KDL40W5500U or the Samsung LE40B530, and wanted some deciding advice!

Thanks

Years ago, when I was looking for a new VCR I narrowed down my choices by feature. This left me with a choice of 3 machines that could all do what I wanted from them. I reduced that to two based on the brand names, one of which was known to be a less reliable brand. My final decision was price - I got the one that was a tenner cheaper.

Yep, the advantages of the same make for TV, BluRay and AV Receiver is huge as integration is so much easier. TBH, I'd go for Samsung, Sony is too pricey now.

I had a similar decision to make last week and ended up with the LG.

The specs for these 2 TVs arent particularly comparable hence the price difference i would suggest. I have the Samsung and am very happy with it. I also have a Sony, albeit a smaller screen size and the picture is spot on. Set a budget, identify the features you want and then narrow down the sets available within your budget. Trustedreviews.com have some excellent reviews on a wide range of sets.
