LOL, are you intending to follow me and my dog on our walk??
NO, I would absolutely not pay for someone else to clean up after my dog. I can manage, thanks.0 -

Not at all. I found the forum through a news alert and after reading, thought I'd answer the questions posed.
I didn't post a link, or a phone number, or an email address, or a company name. I posted information about the industry for the enlightenment of those who don't know about the industry. Why would I advertise outside of my service area, anyway?
Wow, you're kinda jaded. Relax.0 -

You did not post a link, because you are not allowed to, but you did invite people to email, pm or call you.
Why would you offer your services outside your area? You offered to find a scooper anywhere on the planet, just how big is your area? And how much do you charge for this service?More questions? Email, pm or call. Not sure if links/addresses/phones are permitted here, (every moderator has their own vision) but I'll be happy to provide contact info within the rules, and if YOU want a scooper, chances are I can find one for you, anywhere on the planet0 -

"... but you did invite people to email, pm or call you..."
So?
My service area is within about a 10 mile radius of my city. However, I know scoopers in many other cities, almost every state, as well as in Australia and Germany. I regularly field calls or emails from people outside my area and refer them to other scoopers. I don't charge for that, I never have. When I refer clients to scoopers outside my service area they occasionally refer back to me.
You're still missing the point that I didn't come here to solicit business. I don't need your board to solicit business, I advertise locally. I came here to share information and promote the industry as a whole. Why are you so angry? Is it just that you don't like "yanks"? Maybe that's it! As we say here in America, whatever. :rotfl:0 -

That's hardly "Anywhere on the planet". And none of them would be any use to most of the people in here.I regularly field calls or emails from people outside my area and refer them to other scoopers. So that's your plan, refer enough people from here and some will be referred back to you, generating you more business. You can't tout for business in here. You're still missing the point that I didn't come here to solicit business, I came here to share information and promote the industry as a whole.
So why are you offering to refer people and stating that when you refer people they often refer back to you. That is soliciting for business.
You original post was good, and helpful, all except the last paragraph, it shows you are only here to further your own business. Why are you so angry? Is it just that you don't like "yanks"? Maybe that's it! :rotfl:
Most of the world doesn't like yanks, but I am not one of them. I only hate people who make exaggerated statements like claiming they can find you a scooper in any area on the planet.0 -
ps, I also know several scoopers in Canada.
Regardless of what you may think, I'm not here to solicit. I get my business from local ads, word of mouth, local referrals and organic search results.
Sorry if I ticked you off. I can usually find a scooper for anyone who needs one, and if not, I at least make a hard honest effort. For free.
Anyway, back to work. The poops, the poops are calling, from glen to glen and down the mountainside.
Be of good cheer!0 -
Dogs eat meat therefore their pooh is going to (and does!) smell rather bad! I certainly wouldnt pay someone to clean it up especially as i havea husband who can do that! I think in this climate people are not going to be spending loads of dog poop!
Also - and i dont mean this nasty or horrible - but arent you going to smell of dog poop - what happens if you accidently ingest some and then become seriously ill?
TBH i would opt for perhaps a less risky, less smelly more attractive job - i certainly wouldnt feel horny around husband if he had been out collecting dog waste!O/S Debt: PL £[STRIKE]15207.34[/STRIKE] £9884.55; HSBC £4060.99; Tesco£1430.15; M&S £5990.17; Virgin [STRIKE]£5158.69[/STRIKE] £4210.14; Egg £4619.00; O/S = ££30,292.42 AIM - To Be Debt Free 56 months0 -

That's also why it isn't very useful as fertilizer, btw. The carnivorous aspect, I mean. Most non-chemical commercial fertilizers consist of cow, sheep, horse or chicken manure. Worm castings are an up and coming thing, too.
There is a program in San Francisco using canine waste to generate methane, but by and large it isn't recommended for use as fertilizer. There are some companies composting it, but even they say it shouldn't be used on food crops.BeautyandtheBeast wrote: »Also - and i dont mean this nasty or horrible - but arent you going to smell of dog poop - what happens if you accidently ingest some and then become seriously ill?
No offense taken! No, I don't smell of poop... Shoes and tools are sanitized between stops, and I bathe regularly. Accidentally ingest some?! I'm not throwing it around at random with a pitchfork!BeautyandtheBeast wrote: »i would opt for perhaps a less risky, less smelly more attractive job
It's not that risky. Bites are much more of a risk than disease. After all, dogs have been doing their business around humans for thousands of years, how many people have you heard of who have gotten sick from it? People would pale if they knew how much dirt, how many bugs, etc. we consume in the course of our lives. As a species, we're pretty resilient. Attractive? The money's attractive.
Thanks for your reply.

I hope you're satisfied now, and can go pester someone else.0
