Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday 4th April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
OK I know it's only nearly 1.30am but I can't sleep so I thought I'd start the thread.
My gran hasn't been feeling well and collapsed at home. My parents have rushed over and I am clock watching for a telephone call to find out what's going on. Plus I have restless leg syndrome and my back is playing up. So all of the above not condusive for a good night's sleep. Am having some quiet time on the lappy and hope that a milky drink will help me back off to sleep.
Didn't have the ham cooking in the SC. H decides to tell me he's not that keen on it. He's eaten it previously so why the sudden change?!!! Anyway ended up just having a makeshift for tea in the end.
I confess the orgy of chocolate that is Easter has already started
We have about 9 easter eggs for the kids to get through and it's a ridiculous amount of chocolate so I shall just have to help them out a bit
Not sure what our plans will be for today. I suspect I shall be begging for a lie in by 7am this morning LOL!
Candygirl - meant to say how cute Boo is
Essex - hope the driver is OK and gets over his shock and that everything is OK with the van xx
Hope you're all having sweet dreams
Try and catch up later sometime.

Morning.... the real morning that is.
Wet and soggy here. yesterday's showers were very 'persisterant' so it was brollys all the way, cold too. Went to Falmouth on the train, pretty busy about.
Much the same weather today me thinks.
Church first thing, then parents up for dinner. Roast lamb. etc... Don't do lamb too often as it's expensive.
Well, hope you have a good day

Morning. Again :rotfl:
No lie in at the mo.......got to bed around 2am when legs finally stopped feeling twitchy. My gran is ok. Paramedic thinks combination of vertigo coupled with not eating last couple of days is whats knocked her off her feet. She's 88 and doesn't cope with illness very well any more. Thanks for the hugs
DD is poorly with cold and clingy so not the best start to Easter
Hope those of you cooking something special today have lovely mealsI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all
Glad to hear it's not to serious with your Gran, Bitsy.
Weather forecast says it should be dry today, so washing on the line here, my ex Mil would have kittens, but I'm not a Christian, so I'm allowed, lol. Also need to spend some time in the garden digging in the compost, I'll leave that to hubby, I'll just direct operations. Not other plans apart from more housework.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

We have harf a leg of lamb for our roast today. I had it from aldi yesterday never had one from there before but my mom and dad have and thay said the leg tasted as good as a fresh one from the buchers so iv given it ago.
Our local aldi only opend in november and we have had some good things from there. same as lidel too we have had some good stuff off them aldi dose seem to be a bit better than lidl.
Not much planned for today really. The twins are off to the inlaws from lunchtime and wont be back untill early evening. I was hopeing to be able to spend a bit of time out in the garden but with the rain it dont look like i will now.

Morning Everyone and Happy Easter! :EasterBun
So far it looks like being a grey day here, but hopefully it'll be dry. I think both of us just want a restful day today as yesterday was quite busy helping a friend move house and the day before spent visiting relatives. So today there won't be a lot happening! We're starting off with a little bit of F1 and a cup of tea. Tea tonight will be black bean chicken and noodles but I wanted to enthuse a bit about last night's tea. I made a sort of snack tea for everyone that helped in the house move - spicy meatball subs. Basically those part-baked baguettes cut in half and split, filled with homemade meatballs and topped with grated cheese. Mmm...
Yes, there is a small chocolate egg in the fridge for us both later, as a treat. And I'm really looking forward to it.Have a lovely day, everyone (((hugs)))

Happy Easter Everyone! Bitsy - Glad your Gran is OK, My Grandad is 86 and fit as a butchers dog but he's a worry as he doesn't realise his age and carry's on like a young lad! It was only a few years ago two thugs stopped him and demanded his watch and wallet.....so he punched one and knocked him over a wall and the other ran away. I'd never condone violence....but I would have loved to have seen it! x
I have Sunnyday's Cinnamon Fruit Bread in the BM and I was going to put the Beef in the Slow cooker but its topside so I think it will be tastier roasted and a little bit pink (PLEASE TELL ME QUICKLY IF IT WILL BE BETTER SLOW-COOKED !!!)
We have absolutely nothing that we have to do today and that feels really good! DD and I are 'enjoying' Timmie Time on Cbeebies. She has just informed me that she had a bit of snot on her nose and has wiped it on my nice chenille scarf which was over the back of the chair....at least she warned me.
Brunch will be bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, beans and toast when DH and the Twins surface and Dinner will be Roast Beef and all that goes with it including some cocktail sausages which I will coat in honey and wholegrain mustard.
I'm going to potter round the kitchen and straighten up shortly just waiting for the painkillers to kick in as I'm a bit sore this morning. I'll be glad when I get my referral to the rheumatologist and can get this under control.
Bought my grouchy chocolate-less friend some shoes yesterday (her next favourite thing!) which put a smile on her face although she was staying up until midnight last night so she could devour a huge bar of chocolate - she'll be the most serene woman on the plant this morning :rotfl:
Enjoy your day, whatever you're doing

Morning all have you missed me:p
things havent been to good here so havent felt like posting DS is being assesed for aspergers which the new school already thought had been done as it is so obvious and DD1 has been diagnosed with Irlen syndrome which is a type of dislexia she has to have peach coloured plastic over her books and rose coloured writing paper as well as her handouts being printed on peach paper as she cant cope with black on white as it glows when i asked her why she had never said anything she said she thought it was normal
anyhoo things can only get better so onwards n upwards for us
