Laptop With held

I now this is not quite the right forum, but hoping someone will point me in the right direction.
I loaned a laptop to my sisters family, as a short term stop gap, while they purchased new equipment. Before the laptop was returned, my sisters marriage broke down, and she left.
I am now trying to get the laptop back.
It is being with held by my sister's husbands solicitors, as they are using it for employment information.
The law firm have had it for several months, and I am now writing direct to them, to request it's return.
Specifically it belongs to my daughter, and it was purchased for her by a disability organisation.
Any idea's of the sort of wording I can use, without sounding clueless about my rights, so I can get this back for my daughter.

Just tell them who the laptop belongs to, how it was funding, send some sort of proof, and give them 7 days to return it, otherwise you will be charging them a daily lease of £10 a day!

Any 'employment information' on the laptop can be copied to a memory stick quite easily so the solicitors are talking rubbish.

I have a link from the charity commission, which shows the laptop money being given to my daughter, so this should be good evidence.
Originally I asked for the return of this laptop on the 14th February, and this request was denied. Enough is enough!
