Which colour throw??

Hi all,
Sorry, not sure if this goes in this part of the forum and I'm sorry if this is a bit tedious but I wanted opinions!!
Moving into a new flat in a month's time. Flat is rented but needs a fresh lick of paint which landlord is happy for me to do. I'm just gonna go over the walls in white or magnolia (they are this already but a bit tired looking). I want to keep it light.
The carpets are new but dark brown throughout which makes it quite dark. I've found a couple of sofas but I was wondering which coloured throws to buy. Here are the ones on ebay I liked the look of:-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CREAM-MULTI-3-SEATER-SOFA-BED-SETTEE-THROW-225-x-250cm_W0QQitemZ160387545743QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Cushions_Throws_LE?hash=item2557d7ba8f

I have a cat (indoor only) so not sure the cream one would be wise with his fur (he is black and white), and also any dirt would show up easier than on the stone-coloured ones. But I wonder if the stone-coloured ones are too dark and I need the cream ones to bring light into the room?
Thanks peeps

I would want to inject a new colour into the room as it sounds rather bland keeping to the beige/brown theme. You could introduce any colour to give it a bit more life. What colour are the curtains?
I'd probably go for a splash of burnt orange, yellow or even turquoise but would co-ordinate by having the chosen colour (mixed in a pattern with brown probably) in the curtains, throws and a rug to break up the darkness of the carpet. Hope you get what I mean.
That's just my taste though. Enjoy your new flat.0 -
I agree new colour would be good - there is a lot of Jade green around at the moment which would be a good contrast - you often see it matched with brownDownshifted

Thanks

Agree with you on the green - I actually remember that the carpet had small blue-green spots on it. Not sure on the colour of the curtains to be honest, I can't remember.
So do you think green throws would be too much? Or throws with various colours in them but the main one being green?
You can tell I'd never made a good interior designer

I like the 3rd one the best but they all could work. When you've got the rug choose one of the shades from it for your throws. Enjoy!0
