Online Conveyancing

Hi, I'm just researching solicitors so I can appoint someone to do the conveyancing to buy a property. I've got a list of local ones to ring on Tuesday. Does anyone have any experience of using an online conveyancer for this?
I'm wondering if I will save much money or whether what I do save will be lost in hassle of not being able to go to the local office and speak to the same person etc.
Any view on this would be much appreciated, thanks

From what I've read on here the general experience is that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Get a proper solicitor.0 -
Definately shop around, online, locally and national firms, but be SURE you get complete quotes so you are comparing like with like. Read this here.
Online will be cheaper and can be perfectly effective but I'd use someone you can visit if it's less than straight forward, or tight timescales etc. So for example buying a re-possession, a complex leasehold etc0 -
I get quite a lot of work from people who've used online conveyancers. And only used them once.
I also have a certain amount of work sorting out when they've messed up.0 -

They're based in Glasgow so might not deal with England as the laws are different.0 -
