so you can prove that you havent hit his car, causing the damage, and are now trying to lay blame with him?
this will just end up in a knock for knock through the insurers

I would definately forget it if I still had my old car but we're talking about my shiny new £25 grand Audi here! [heart breaks]0

suppose you could send him a 'letter before action' if you know his address- apparently many people pay up at seeing this threat of going to court in black and white
just a quick warning about your insurance company, a similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago outside my flat- my wing mirror was knocked off & i didn't see it happen- phoned my insurers to ask if there was anything they could do re: maybe finding cctv etc, finding out who'd done it, they said no sorry- so i said sure i'll just go to a garrage and get it fixed ( i was only 3rd party fire & theft anyway)
anyway.... about 6 months later when it came to renew my quote was initially HUGE because i had an open file- i hadn't realised they'd logged it (i know, dumb), was quickly sorted out & fine but just to warn you
I found a cctv camera did show the incident and the van had a company's slogan on the side so contacted them myself and they paid my bill- maybe you could see if there was any cctv which recorded your incident?
good luck0 -

I'm looking for some advice.
I've just moved into a new flat and a few days ago (not entirely sure when) a lovely big scrape appeared on my front bumper. After some investigation it was apparent that this had been caused by a purple car (evidence: Massive streaks of purple paint within the damage). There is a Purple fiesta that parks next to me most days which belongs to an old man who visits the cafe next door. I thought I'd have a look at his car for signs of a scrape and lo and behold there it is, a massive scuff on his bumper, perfectly matching the one on mine. On confronting the man, he became immediately defensive and borderline abusive, saying the damage was weeks old and i was a f*** young Sh*** and he'd "See me in court".
Speaking to my insurance company they cant commit to anything as I didnt see the incident and its "My word against his".
WHAT SHOULD I DO??????
Thanks in anticipation

An old man telling a 6'7" 19-stone rugby player to !!!! off?
Oh look, there go some pigs. With wings, and green beards.0 -
Is it the only " Purple Fiesta " in the country?
Of course not.0 -
Perhaps the old guy didn't realise what he'd done / forgotten / felt scared about being confronted by a stranger in the street....?0

If he didn't realise then I fear for people's lives.lovethymini wrote: »Perhaps the old guy didn't realise what he'd done / forgotten / felt scared about being confronted by a stranger in the street....?0
