Vauxhall Astra 1.9 CDTI sport
Hi,
I am thinking of buying a Vauxhall Astra 1.9 cdti sport, I just wondered if anyone has any advice for me or if anyone owns one if they could tell me what it is like to drive etc?
Thanks very much

There's a few common issues with the 1.9 CDTI and also a few common reasons people like them despite of this - have a look at the forums at https://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk and you'll be able to find out quite a lot0

They are quick and economical, but can be quite unreliable and expensive to put right if you don't diy repair. They don't hold their money all that well either so beware unless your buying at the right price. They are fun to drive, and torquey. The interiors are quite plasticky and creaky especially once you get a few miles on them and the hard plastics everywhere are not to my taste. very prone to major coolant leaks, and the flywheels seem to get noisy quite early on in life too but that is common with a lot of modern diesels. my work runs a few of them and theres always something going wrong with them but they are tolerated because we get a massive discount on them compared to the fords nissans and renaults they bought before.0

Sounds like Vauxhall to me - fix problems and then leave owners of the flawed cars up sh*t creek.
Z16XEP clutch judder, anyone? :mad:0 -

and swirl flaps when they go ,they cost what £35 and the engine got to come out ???
what about £700 for them
EGR valves cost £35 if you can get them
DMF is about £650 +
any more,i cannot thing off that many more, yeh some pull to the left and make a banging noise from the back end and front
egine light comes on for no reson
or yes brakes and tyres they eat them ,well front ones any way
no worse than any other car really and you only hear about the bad ones/friday cars ,not the good ones
(prices might be wrong it was 3 years ago when i last looked)
now thats a vauxhallthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
Still - it's probably the reason I could buy a 2007 56 Astra for about £1500 less than a Focus :rotfl:0
