Anyone know how to reset a Proline washing machine?

I can't find the manual, either at home, or online.
Our washing machine (PFL 1466W-U) is showing off today.
We've managed to take the washing out of the machine but it's still got loads of water left inside.
It wasn't running on a two and a half hour programme when it threw its hissy fit, but that's what it's decided it's running now.
Does anyone know how to stop it from running this programme, so that we can select the empty/spin cycle.
We have switched it off and on again, and have tried unplugging it from the wall and leaving it about half an hour. But as soon as we switch it back on again, it's showing Err1 and then going into the two and a half hour cycle.
I don't really want to be wasting 2 1/2 hours' worth of electricity if we can stop it.

Hi,
Did you ever find a solution to this? I am seeing the same "Err 1" message (I have no manual for the washer), but it doesn't do anything further. Just won't let me do anything with the controls (none of the buttons or the dial work).
Thanks.0 -
All my Google results, end up pointing me to Comet's support.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

Yes, I did - when we pulled the washing machine out, I found the manual down the back of it
. Actually I found two identical ones. If you'd like to PM me your address, I will pop one in the post to you.

My machine is a different model but had the same problem. I pressed pause while the machine was going and then pressed stop (power off). Open the door, when you close the door the programme goes ready to be reset. If you just power off and open the door you will get err 1 showing, you must pause the machine first.0
