Where I am now people tend to stay or move to another village more expensive nearby.
All I need is a couple of hundred thousand & we will chip in & !!!!!! off down to the West Country, sit on a beach & work 20 hrs a week for the rest of my life doing something that I enjoy... Sorted..
The last bit is the same for me, except it'll be the West Wales coast
and maybe 10 hours a week

I think it's partly because only two houses sold in our street in 2007, which is the lowest year over the past ten. But then only 3 sold in 2004 and 2005, so it's difficult to say.
I like threads like this, it's much more interesting than all the rather meaningless national statistics.
For instance, why has there been slightly more sales in my road in 2008 and 2009 (average 4.5 a year) than there were in the 'boom years' of 2003 to 2007 (average of 4.2 a year)?2000 = 8
2001 = 10
2002 = 8
2003 = 7
2004 = 3
2005 = 3
2006 = 6
2007 = 2
2008 = 5
2009 = 40 -

I found around the North Wales Coast when I walked into a pub the locals all shut up & turned around stared at me....
But I guess thats just my effect....

Just to add the earlier years for my road;
2000 = 52
2001 = 42
2002 = 62
2003 = 46
2004 = 39
2005 = 30
2006 = 53
So, it's really slowed down. The peak year in the last 10 being 2002 with 62 properties sold. But prices are just crazy around here. People are wanting £300k for a 50sq meter flat with extra £30k to add 100 years to the lease, kitchen that doesn't fit a table, limited parking etc. Just your usual London insanity :eek:.0 -

Ive known a few N. Wales people, and theyve been wannabe scousers, but they were from Rhyl:eek:
We like around Cardigan which is quite infested with English immigrants though:(;) btw I am also English

Yes, that is interesting, and probably impossible to know why. I dont know about my street as I'm temporarily renting. I'll check on my last street.
2010 Nil
2009 Nil
2008 Nil
2007 2 * 1 of which was mine
2006 2
2005 Nil
2004 1
2003 2
2002 1
Not enough sold to indicate a trend.
The house I rent now was last sold in 2002 twice

2000 = 6 £100k
2001 = 6 £112k
2002 = 5 £104k
2003 = 6 £183k
2004 = 7 £200k
2005 = 3 £232k
2006 = 8 £166k
2007 = 6 £222k
2008 = 3 £271k
2009 = 7 £226k
Make of it what you will, but of course on such small numbers it is nothing more than interesting I guess.
