How many properties have sold in your street recently?

I live on a very long road (at least one mile long) in London which has a real mixture of blocks of flats, old houses and shops. I was curious as to how many residential properties on my road have been sold in the last few years so I looked up the figures;

2007 = 39
2008 = 19
2009 = 18
2010 = 1 (so far this year)

Plenty of properties for sale in the numerous estate agents windows but nothing seems to be selling. What is it like in your area?

    Number sold per year is below on our road. None sold in 2010 yet, but wouldn't only up to February's sales be on the registry up to now? My road is a long road of 30s and 40s semis with no new builds, so not sure why more houses were sold in 2000 to 2003 than in more recent times.

    2000 = 8
    2001 = 10
    2002 = 8
    2003 = 7
    2004 = 3
    2005 = 3
    2006 = 6
    2007 = 2
    2008 = 5
    2009 = 4

    Our road is about 4 miles long, I think. On it are, I think, just over a dozen houses. In the last eight years or so three houses on this road have been sold. 2 because of death, one from down sizing. Last one has sold very recently. One before was in 2008. One before that was 8 years ago.

    I don't think my road is the best measure for me!

    I've geeked out and done a graph of average sale prices of houses down our road from 2000 to 2009. I've done it because I love you guys and also have no life whatsoever.

    2002 - 2
    2003 - 0
    2004 - 0
    2005 - 2
    2006 - 1
    2007 - 0
    2008 - 1
    2009 - 1

    small and highly desirable village hence the low numbers.

    One house on the street next to mine has just broken the barrier for my area. The most houses were going for pre-recession was 140K, and I've just checked on the land registry and this one went for 175K. Apart from being a semi amongst a row of terraces, and having a garage which most don't, I can only conclude that the inside was gold plated or something.
    All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

    Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Maybe it had some really nice laminate or something, innit?
