Don't know if anyone is aware or not but I noticed today that Redrow Homes have launched a range of sites called Redrow Debut
Properties start from £49,995 and are aimed at FTB
https://www.debutbyredrow.co.uk
Hope there is a site near you!

I'm guessing those really small windows are the ones for the living rooms and probably the only window in your whole flat

Great.....as long as you don't mind living in a shoebox and your bedroom, lounge and kitchen are almost open plan and you have to locate your washing machine in your bathroom!!My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say
Ignore......check!0 -
Ok so they are small, but they are still cheaper than a small house/apartment on a normal development.
I don't work for Redrow but at least they are doing something to help get people on the ladder, my cheapest property is £96,950 for something the same as the debut 2 home and I don't even have any small houses to sell as they are not profitable.
Sorry this wasn't helpful.0 -
No thanks OP for making the time to post, I am sure it wil help some.
I just had a small chukkle that I must be getting old looking for a 3 bed house.. when what I really should be looking for is a :
3 sleep, 2 splash, 1 eat and 1 think house..
Its got to be an age thing..The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…

Are these like the "capsule home" developments which have been discussed on and off by the government for creating affordable first homes in Central London? ... Not a bad idea really ... cheap to build ... cheap land (small "footprint") ... low maintenance ... Some people don't need a lot of space, and just need somewhere to call home ... Like me for example ... single ... not planning a family ... I'm fortunate to have found a good shared-ownership property which I'm currently buying, but was quite keen on the "capsule homes" idea last time it was mentioned ... and by the way, MissMotivation, what's wrong with having your washing machine in your bathroom? In some countries it's the norm, and in the absence of a utility room, really makes more sense than having it in the kitchen!

Every European country I've rented an apartment in has had the washing machine in the bathroom! (Germany, Spain, Netherlands)0 -
Washing machines in bathrooms, second only to DIY gas I think, in terms of number of times it gets discussed on building forums. The problem is that plugging a washing machine in does not comply with Wiring Regulations in this country, which is why you rarely see it. It can be done to comply with the regulations (so I'm told), but that's why we don't often see it here in the UK.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
