If you get income based JSA, even if it's only 10p your council tax will be paid - so that's some extra for you.

    Hi ,
Sorry to be all doom and gloom but ,I would keep paying the Life Insurance .
Mt Dh was killed whilst unemployed but ,he insisted on paying the Life insurance (in fact ,the benefits Agency told us to keep paying it ).Without that ,I would now be in deep sh##.You can arrange to have enough life insurance to cover the cost of the house if needs be .Sometimes this works out cheaper than using the Mortgage Insurance .
We got Housing Benefit and asked the mortgage company to accept a smaller amount .
Car boot sales helped ,selling on Ebay and sell books on amazon .
    Good luck to you .

You may be able to get some help with paying the mortgage, sometimes they pay the interest, obviously they won't pay £1700 a month but it's worth asking about.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

just read your post, we know how you feel cos hubby went back to work last month after an operation , we were living on £90 for 3 adults , no other benefits even though for the last 2 yrs hubby's income 13,000( so theoretically we should have qualified for WTC) . our mortgage is 443 month ( int only) and our company have been rubbish , no sympathy at all , we now have mortgage/ gas/elec / council tax arrears + c/cards debts, we had to go to the CAB in the end , it was too much emotionally to cope with , we have our name down on local council list and we are selling the house ( 3 bed semi and going for 90,000 and we live up north! if your interested ):D

I start a job on monday , working 35hrs a week - 6.43hr, so I phoned WTC up the other day and they said that with hubby's wages we now earn too much to claim!!!

anyway keep going and just take one day and one problem at a time , other wise you start to think suicide is the only way out , thank god for this forum and all the great support from everyone on here
