I tried to buy car insurance online from its4me.co.uk. They accepted my payment and then the site asked for further details to be sent in the post. Their site almost immediately crashed and I lost confidence in buying online. Because the site was no longer working, I called them to cancel by telephone within minutes of the transaction. The company were unhelpful and rude, charging me a £30 cancellation fee even though the insurance was bought on August 2nd and the cover was not due to start until 19th August. They said they didn't have a cooling off period which the site doesn't confirm one way or the other. I have now gone to my tried and trusted usual insurers, Swinton's, to arrange my car insurance. The adviser I spoke to thought that its4me had treated me unfairly. This is a friendly warning, don't buy insurance from its4me online! Has anyone else been ripped off or treated unfairly by this company?

yep. I would tell anyone to not touch its4me with a barge pole.

I was in the unfortuneate position of having to make a claim on my car insurance as the car had been set alight - they got my details wrong (told me I couldn't claim for contents inside car as only TPFT when I was actually fully comp) and on more than one occasion I would be on hold for over 15 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the phone, only for them to pick up the line and cut it off straight away. i even had 'customer service operators' put the phone down on me or cut me off and I wasn't being nasty or impolite - just cut off for no reason.
