Not sure if this has been mentioned in the past but if you are on Pay Monthly on Orange make sure you don't receive a delivery report - They charge 1p per delivery report.
I found that out after my first proper bill - the worst bit was my phone had the receive delivery report set up automatically!

Yeah they started charging for delivery reports years ago - I found out when I had an unusually high bill and rang them up to query it.
Strange how in 2001 I received reports telling me people had received my texts, but ten years later I've got no idea if they've arrived or not

that's rediculous.. hardly anyone needs to know exactly when a message arrives.. it's just useful when it's free.0

Bizarre. A good money-making ploy.. but bizarre.
Should tell my girlfriend this.. she went contract with Orange back in January. We've been bemused why her phone bill was higher every month than the amount contracted for ! This could well be it.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

If she sends 1000 texts a month that's an extra tenner on top of her bill. If she uses 3000 - the 3000 being the limit in "unlimited texts" - then that's £30 on top!LeeSouthEast wrote: »Bizarre. A good money-making ploy.. but bizarre.

Not quite that severe, fortunately. We're only talking about £3-7 a month difference.

She's probably going over her limits somewhere then. Does she have a paper bill? I think that bumps it up a little as well.LeeSouthEast wrote: »Not quite that severe, fortunately. We're only talking about £3-7 a month difference.

Online billing. Never uses up her minutes, and the texts are unlimited. It's probably a combination of delivery reports and minor internet usage.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
