exel1966 I would question your comment about it taking up to 4 weeks.

The credit account records, called CAIS data, is what can take several weeks, as we rely on the lenders updating their files to us.

    .

And this is exactly why it can take up to 4 weeks for the information to become available. Having used Experian and Equifax on numerous occasions to track searhces on my own file, I know from expierience that it will sometimes take this long. CRA's will know the search has been done, but it may not show to the individual concerned when looking at their own file.

I'm still confused exel1966. Are you referring to 'searches' or 'account information' (eg limits, repayment history etc) taking 4 weeks to appear?

If the former, then I hope I've explained a possible reason for this in my earlier post. The CRA's have a duty to keep accurate records, and I would assume this would include showing searches promptly.

If the latter, then I agree it can take longer (up to 3 months in my experience with LTSB).

exel1966, I have spend most of the week training a finance company on how to use our credit searches, for both business and consumer searches.

some of the time we "duplicated" searches on consumers, searching them at least twice - in EVERY example, the previous search done only minutes before was shown as a previous search.

if a live credit search is done on the system it will be recorded instantly for other lenders to see.

admittedly it might take a few days to show on creditexpert; my own searches do not always show instantly - I do not know how that works, but member JamesJones might do. In the case of the OP I would expect it to show after 10 days.
Karma is a wonderful thing. ;)
