Whether the 2 of you who can pay actually do pay is irrelevant, the remaining 50% of the bill will still be debt collected upon. I'd move out.0

taking names off - is that still opening a new account ?
Thanks for your help by the way.
How many more different ways do you want this explaining? You are each responsible for the ENTIRE bill, not a quarter each: there is NO WAY to change that liability. If you don't want to be jointly and severally liable for shysters move into someone's house as a lodger or get your own flat. Next time you get into a joint credit agreement/ legally binding contract please read the terms and conditions.
You have two options. Firstly pay your share, extract forwarding addresses from your fellow tenants and HOPE the energy supplier will chase them and not you. However, by not paying promptly ALL your credit files will be marked for the next six years so this is a high risk strategy. Secondly pay the entire bill (or arrange staged payments), extract forwarding addresses from your fellow tenants and take them to the small claims court for their share.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
