Hi
I am interested in selling my goods on amazon using their drop shipping service. I send my goods to amazon and they pack and mail to customers I take orders from - or that's the theory.
Has anyone any experience of this?
Any tips welcomed thank you.

Hi,
I think it's the otehr way round....you don't send the product to amazon. You keep the product, amazon list it on their site and you send out the product when someone buys it on amazon. Amazon, as far as i know, don't actually handle YOUR product. They will of course take a %...not sure what it is.

You might be better off on the Ebay board as there are often posts on there from people experienced in Amazon. The fees are quite high - certainly higher than Ebay.0

hi, I think you are talking about FBA Fullfillment by Amazon, - this is different that you listing and then packing the item. You send the items to them in bulk, and when it sells they pick / pack post.
There will be a link on their page with the fees etc on, they normally have trials on for new customers where the fees will be lower.
You need to consider what it is you want to send, etc
Good Points: you don't post it, your item is included in the super saver so can be more attractive
Bad Points,
1. you are charged storage (which if you are struggling for space is not a problem, if you have a large empty warehouse you are paying for now is). 2. You are charged a fixed rate for postage, so you need to factor this in. - Returns, Damages etc need to be factored as I have heard differing opinions on this
3. (if customer returns item it goes to Amazon, they may destroy when you could have resold it)
4. There are only certain items that can be FBA, and they need to either have barcode on every item or you ticket every item (so you may still have the labour to do this
5. You need to get the pallet to them, - they prefer certain carriers otherwise they need to be booked in
6. They do not ship overseas with FBA, so if this is a line that sells well overseas, you will need to "compete" with yourself and list for overseas customers
For me the jury is still out, I know some that it has not worked on, I know others that love it and use it for certain product lines0
