The peeps at east coast salvage had told OH it had never been in an accident and they had no idea why the air bag was missing. They stated most of there cars were repossessions not accident damaged.0

I think I read that a lot of them are repossessed after theft - so keys and log books missing and so on. I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Im sure a lot of small dealers do though! Another reason to really check out the history of a car when you buy it.

It difficult as even £5k gives you quite a lot of choice. Have a look at motor trader websites to see what catches your eye/heart. Sensibly, a Skoda Octavia or even the smaller Fabia would do the job.
At the very least, get SOME idea of the cars you would like before you go any further.0
