I don't believe in ghosts

Has anyone bought a house that they realise was a big mistake the day they moved in. I did this and really tried to overcome my dislike by making improvements to the house but this failed to make any difference. I moved out some time ago to rented accommodation. I have managed to rent it for short periods but even my tenants have had problems. I am now trying to sell it but it seems that potential buyers also do not like the house. I am not sure what the answer is apart from a. giving it away b. leaving it to rot. It has now been empty for some months. It was only built in the 1960's but older neighbours tell me "it's the house that Jack built". What have others done?

Reduce the price, the house will sell if you price it competitively.

Offer it for sale by auction. You'll end up with less money than a 'normal' sale but it should shift it.

    Or

Get a workman in to sort out the defects that you seem to allude to.

    Or

Reduce the price. Talk to your agent and listen to their advice regarding previous viewings. There will probably be a common feedback theme (price/area/size etc)
